A. Claudin, Paris,auction catalogue for the sales held from 9 March 1868 to 28 March 1868. Printed wrappers, 8vo,. xii, 504 pp. Lots 1- 3598. The first volume (only) of the 2 volume catalogue for the sale of the extraordinary library of Victor Luzarche. This volume covers some 3598 lots sold between 9th and 28th March 1868 and includes an Index Generale et Analytique des Manuscrits. (The second volume, not included here, covers lots 3599-6425, which were sold between 1st and 16th March 1869). Victor Luzarche (1805-1869) was the mayor, and also honorary curator of the municipal library, of Tours. His personal library included many treasures acquired from the libraries of the abbeys and convents dispersed after the French revolution. The catalogue includes a preface by Anatole Claudin. Wrappers slightly marked, otherwise a Very Good unopened copy.
