H. P. Kraus, New York, bookseller's catalogue, 1954. Limited edition of 600 copies, 300 of these for distribution "to clients and friends", and 300 for sale. Cloth, paper cover-label, folio, 36 cm,. 99, [1] pp, 2 colour plates, 55 half-tone ills tipped-in. and 45 line ills (some in red and black). 100 items. In a later volume described as part II of this catalogue, Hans Peter Kraus allowed himself a "personal postscript" in which he notes that he felt he had "peaked" when he issued this catalogue 69 in 1954 - "Within a few months nearly all items were sold although the prices were considered rather high at the time". But by 1971 he felt that Catalogue 69"..somehow looks modest compared with the present catalogue Glue marks on pastedown endpapers, boards slightly faded at top, minor wear to spine-ends, otherwise Very Good.
