London: Book Club Associates, 1977. Authoritative work on the subject, from Iron Age hill forts to 19th Century Martello towers. Profusely illustrated (b/w) with 105 photographs and 30 line drawings. Black covers with gilt lettering to spine, blue endpapers, 192pp inc index. Apart from dusty and very lightly foxed top page edges, book has no obvious faults. Intact DJ has very light curl to front top and bottom, a tiny rub and hole on lower, rear spine, otherwise in VG condition. Internally very clean, bright and tight with no marks or inscriptions and overall a VG copy. Ref:082783. Reprint. Cloth. VG+/VG. 19x24.5cm.
