RARE: Adventure tale, a father and son are in a cargo schooner, the hold hot and glowing with a clow-burning fire, and they are racing against time and destruction heading for an island in the South Seas. The crew has abandoned ship in the small boats (caution: discriminatory and stereotypical language in use). The boy wants the pearls sold on land, steamer passage to 'Frisco procured, and then train tickets home to Gloucester, Massachusetts. Time runs out so they throw the hatch door overboard as a raft. The island they find holds new adventures.
