About This Item

New York: William Morrow and Company, 1933., 1933. First edition. First edition. Second appearance of Perry Mason. Former owner's bookplate on front pastedown sheet, else a fine, bright copy in a facsimile dust jacket. A beautiful young girl said she wanted to get married, but her uncle and guardian, Edward Norton, had threatened to cut her off from her fortune if she did marry. She came to Perry Mason to see if he could help her squirm out of the terms of the will that was so binding. Mason gave her no encouragement in this regard. Later that same evening Edward Norton was murdered, soon afterward his niece retained Perry Mason to represent her. A Haycraft/Queen Cornerstone mystery.
