The first UK edition. Erle Stanley Gardener was an American author and lawyer best known for the Perry Mason series of detective novels. The Case of the Howling Dog is his fourth to feature Perry Mason, an American criminal defence lawyer and was made into an American mystery film directed by Alan Crosland in 1934. In the original unclipped dust wrapper. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with some fading to the spine and bumping to the head and tail of the spine. A previous owner stamp to the front free endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound with bright and clean pages. In the original unclipped dust wrapper which is smart with some chipping to the extremities and head and tail of the spine and a small tear to the front wrap. Very Good Indeed
