About This Item

New York: William Morrow Company, 1934. First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. Warmly inscribed to former owner, mysterious writer Tee Rose (author of a single piece in a 1948 Argosy magazine that ran alongside one of Gardner's stories, as far as anyone knows) who had numerous books of Gardner's inscribed to her over decades:"To Tee Rose / who sees far beneath the surface and knows how to write about it. With all best wishes / Yours / Erle Stanley Gardner / Christmas 1934."

First edition. viii, 296 pp. Black cloth with yellow lettering. Small newspaper photo of author pasted beaneath signature, small stain dot to top edge, else Fine. In Very Good original price-clipped dust jacket with two closed tears in back panel, small areas of loss at tips there; edge-rubbing and light wear, price neatly ripped off flap. A great copy of a Perry Mason mystery in its rare jacket, signed in the year of publication.
