EDGAR RICE BURROUGHS INC. TARZANA, January 1939. Hardcover. Used - Good/Good. Hardcover with dust jacket, Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc. Tarzana. DJ has some minor and moderate tears and chipping along its top edge but is unmarked and now preserved in mylar. Two spots of discoloration on jacket spine. Some tape-glue residue on jacket flaps and front and back endpapers, probably from an old protective cover of some kind. Jacket image is still vibrant. Book boards have a couple spots of discoloration and bumped corners. Some minimal liguid stain to top edge of first 38 pages. Purple top of textblock has a little inconsequential spotting. Will pack carefully.
Synopsis
Carson of Venus is the third book in the Venus series (Sometimes called the "Carson Napier of Venus series") by Edgar Rice Burroughs. It was serialized in Argosy in 1938 and published in book form a year later. The novel, which was written close to the outbreak of World War II, satirizes Nazi Germany by including a fascist political faction called the "Zani."
