Pages are bright white. NO foxing. NO underlining. NO highlighting. NO margin notes. First printing. Oversize Hardcover. 8.5" wide by 10.75" tall. Illustrated with many photos and portraits. Pictorial endpapers and a few illustrations are in full-color. Of interest in this volume is Susan Mills Trotter's journal of travel in 1857 from Missouri to California in wagons drawn by oxen (not listed in Wagner-Camp-Becker THE PLAINS AND THE ROCKIES or Mattes PLATTE RIVER ROAD NARRATIVES). This volume supplements the 1968 and 1973 Carroll County history volumes with more family histories, accounts of veterans from the Civil War to Vietnam, listing of marriages in Carroll County 1851-1861, accounts of the local bicentennial celebrations, etc. Printed by Walsworth Publishing Company, Marceline, Missouri. Bound in the original brown cloth, with a handsome gold-embossed seal on the front cover (uniform with the 1968 and 1973 volumes). . First Edition. Oversize Hardcover.
