The hardcover is in near fine condition; inside is unmarked, no foxing, and illustrated with small, lovely engravings at the start of each chapter and on title page. The outside of book; stiff boards, strong binding and hinges, a classy gilt stamped design of a schooner on the sea (about a 2" oval in size)., the binding titles are black, the binding light tan (slightly sun darkened, the head and tail of spine are slightly softened and just showing minor edge-wear, there is some minor sunning along the outer edges of covers. No dj.
