Doubleday, Doran & Co, Garden City, NY, 1934. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Near Fine Condition/Very Good. Book The fourth book in Roberts' Chronicles of Arudel series of novels Size: Small Octavo (7 1/2-8"). 310 pages. Item Type: Book. Text body is tight, bright and unmarked. The text is followed by one leaf with blurbs for Arundel, Rabble in Arms and The Lively Lady on the recto and the author's acknowledgements on the verson, three pages (two leaves) of publisher advertisements for the other books and a portrait of the author and text of a Boston Herald editorial on "Kenneth Roberts and his books" on the Recto of the rear free end paper. Near Fine hardcover bound in dark blue cloth embossed in a diamond pattern on the front cover with a bright gilt eagle decoration. Title in bright gilt on the spine. Some shelf wear at the head and foot of the spine and a couple of small white spots on the rear cover. Very Good- unclipped dust jacket ($2.50). There is a large chip at the upper right corner of the front panel, affecting the "N" in "CAPTAIN," 1/4 to 1/2" of loss at the head of the spine not affecting any text, loss of the red line and chip into the blue decoration at the foot of the spine, small chip at the middle of the top edge of the rear panel. The dust jacket is now protected in a clear archival Brodart sleeve. Deckled edges (rough cut). Quantity Available: 1.
