Boston:Ticknor and Fields, 1863. hard cover. Good/No jacket. Boston:Ticknor and Fields. 1863. 375pp+16pp ads, Hardcover. Brown blindstamped boards soiled and sun-faded along spine strip, with gilt almost completely dulled. Spine ends worn and chipped with the front board having an inch tear from top, along gutter. Internally, brown end-pages have a bookplate to inside front board with some old glue stains in the same area. Otherwise the pages are clean and bright, free of previous owners marks or signatures. The binding is tight and hinges intact. Includes a partial vocabulary (4pp) of the Chinook Jargon. *Published posthumously, the Author was one of the first Union Officers killed in the Civil War.
