London: Edward Stanford, 1876. Bound in three quarter burgundy morocco, with red cloth boards. Raised bands on the spine, with short title and author's surname in gilt in one compartment, with gilt floral devices to the remaining five compartments, 1876 publication date in gilt at the foot of the spine. Top edge gilt, new marbled endpapers and new fly leaves. Half title.frontis with tissue guard. x[xi-xii]400 pages, Illustrated with ten colour plates and a folding map at the end of the book.5.5 X 8.4 inches. Externally the book is in very good condition, bindiung very sound solid clean and bright. Lower corners a bit rounded inwards. Inside is also very good, with a few spotst to the first few pages, and also the last few pages. The map is foxed, and browned, with the folds reinforced on the verso with paper strips.and a one and a half inch tear from careless opening where the rmap is joined to the book.. First Edition. Half Leather. Very Good/No Jacket.
