Illustrator: Antoni Clave. , text is illustrated with black-and-white drawings, mostly full page by Antoni Clave. All edges gilded, gilt decorations to front and rear board, and to the back strip section, which has three raised bands. The story of the slow and painful disillusionment of the titular character, Candide. Rubbing of the book corners with some bumping of the top corner. Softening of the back strip with quite noticeable rubbing of the corners. The gilt of the top text edge has become a little worn. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
