DJ is in poor shape with large 2" wide section missing from top back panel; A tight solid book. Dust jacket in Mylar jacket protector, unclipped. ; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 248 pages; This book is broken up into five parts: Part one goes back to the 1600s, fighting the aboriginal population for the land, the siege at the Long Sault, the defence of Fort Vercheres etc., part two deals with the French - English wars such as Louisbourg, the Plains of Abraham etc., part three comes forward to the War of 1812. Part four deals with the problems of a growing country the French population of Quebec becoming restless under the largely English government, the Battle of Ridgeway also known as the Fenian uprising. Part five deals with the problems of a population spreading west , problems with Riel and the Metis and various other battles such as the Chilcotin War. .
