The book is missing the front free endpaper and the dust jacket is rubbed and worn with creasing to the back panel. "Camps and Classrooms is a historical examination of one compelling aspect of Frontier College's history - the Labourer-Teacher. The Labourer-Teacher is one of the most innovative educational ideas in Canadian history. It is said to have been started one day in 1903 by a Frontier College, tutor, Angus Gray, who spent the winter of 1902-3 as an instructor in Hall's lumber camp near Nairn Centre, Ontario".
