Glossy color photographic dj. Plain white endpapers. Pagination challenging as is typical of reprints: original material augmented by the 1997 intro by E.F. Williams, with a note that hand notation in the source of the reprint was left in place as it was made by a veteran of the campaigns; two frontispieces (one photo of Wheeler aged 63, the other an illus at age 28); original editor's preface; 1862-1865 narrative contains intro plus 27 chaps plus three appendices. Original prelim material numbered to Xxiv, followed by main text with 431 numbered pp, but many photos inserted w/o pagination. Santiago material follows, with two blank pp, photo of Wheeler at age 63, title page, blank, preface, table of contents (Xi chaps over 78 pp), then two blank. B&w photo. Condition notes: a nice copy of a solid reprint. Moderate wear, a few closed tears to dj, price sticker to back. Volume unmarked (but n.b. the inclusion of the earlier edition's hand notes have been included in printing); tight and square. We personally inspect every book we offer.
