1947. BOOK CLUB OF CALIFORNIA. THE CALIFORNIA POETRY PORTFOLIOS, PART ONE [THROUGH] TWELVE. San Francisco: The Book Club of California, 1947. Limited to 750 copies. Twelve quarto folders, each designed by a different press, and each presenting a poem by an eminent California poet, with a commentary by the author. The folders are fine, and are housed in a blue cloth slipcase, which is a little crushed and edgeworn, with worn leather spine labels. Laid-in are three announcements for various numbers on Book Club of California letterhead. The presses are: Quercus Press, Aucune Press, Platen Press, Aquarius Press, Pioneer Hand Printing Society of La Canada, Hart Press, Masque Press, Toyon Press, Greenwood Press, Eucalyptus Press, L-D Allen Press. The poets include: Gelett Burgess, Stanton A. Coblentz, Wallace Irwin, Genevieve Taggard, Marie de L. Welch, Josephine Miles, Janet Lewis, Yvor Winters, Muriel Rukeyser, Hildegarde Flanner, Donald Weeks, Robinson Jeffers.
