About This Item

Winnipeg, Manitoba: Trident Press, 1963. Hardcover. All volumes in blue bindings by Winnipeg's Kobzar Bindery, with original wraps bound in. Minor shelfwear, age-toning throughout, contents unmarked, bindings sound. Text in Ukrainian, excepting the English title pages, and English foreword in Vol. II, III, & 4. Intended to be a 12-volume treatise, but published individually, with publication ceased after the fifth volume, when Kylymnyk unexpectedly passed away. Kylymnyk studied ethnology, ethnography, and philology, and was a scholar of Ukrainian cultural history and folklore; he compiled information on Ukrainian ancient customs and traditions, folklore, songs, games, and worship habits, and compiled the information into these works. No. 3 of Proceedings of the Ukrainian Research of Volyn'. Editor-in-Chief Dr. P. Tenianko / J. Mulyk-Lucyk.
