About This Item
Posano, Italy: Leonardo Arte, 1998. First Edition, First Printing. Hardcover. Fine/fine. STL. Colors Cacas: A Coffee-Table Book. Conceived by Oliviero Toscani. Photographs by Mariosa Toscani Ballo. Designed by Thomas Hilliard. Edited by Rose George. Leonardo Arte, Posano, 1998. 120 pp. Large quarto. First edition. Clothbound in photo-illustrated dust jacket. 120 color reproductions. BOOK CONDITION: Fine, a tight, clean copy in a Fine dust jacket with very light toning and shelf wear to edges. Nice copy! A project conceived by Oliviero Toscani, the mastermind behind the controversial 1990s ad campaigns for the United Colors of Benetton clothing company. As Parr and Badger explain, Toscani's approach is based on "repetition and comparison", and thus its inclusion in the chapter they call the "Dusseldorf Tendency" in The Photobook: A History, vol. II; also included in 802 Photo Books. A selection from the M+M. Auer collection.
