About This Item
Cabinet Card. Dark grey cabinet card (6 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches) with silver gel photo measuring 5 1/2 x 3 7/8 inches. Both photo and mount have light foxing and soiling. Verso is blank. Card edges show wear and light chipping. No place, no date or photographer noted. Still a remarkable image of a young African-American astride a horse with a backdrop of moss laden trees in winter. Rider and horse have saddle, bridle and reins. View is fairly crisp with some light silvering to photo. If only we had the back-story of this image. .
