London: Heinemann, 1952. First Edition. Hard Cover. (London: William Heinemann Ltd 1952). First UK Edition, First Impression. Octavo (19 x 13cm), pp.[8] 274 [2]. Publisher's red cloth with gilt titles to black backing on the spine. Publisher's logo blind-stamped to the back board. A VG (or slightly better) copy without dustwrapper. Boards bright and clean. Just a hint of spine fade. Some foxing to the fore-edge. No inscriptions. This book is certainly good enough to take a dustwrapper. Quite uncommon in this condition. Photographs/scans available upon request.
Synopsis
Anthony Powell was born in 1905. He served in the army during World War II. He is the author of seven other novels, and four volumes of memoirs, To Keep the Ball Rolling .
