Top edge with blue speckles. Decorated endpapers. No mention of edition, but title page and colophon both state 1939 publication. Bright and quite clean covers . Bindings are square & tight with sharp corners. Light tanning to edges of endpapers and light tanning to edges of text block on Volumes I and II. Interior pages clean, bright and unmarked. Faint odor of pipe tobacco smoke. Volumes I and II are mostly historical with 1052 p total. Volumes II and IV are Personal and Family Records, 1612 p total. An attractive and complete set. .
