First edition, first impression of the Nobel Prize and joint 1974 Booker Prize winning author, marvelous novel Her publisher Elizabeth Calder's copy with her bookplate to the front pastedown. She has added a typed note of provenance signed by Calder, "Bloomsbury's joy in publishing Nadine Gordimer was sealed by a trip to Sweden in 1992 to watch the dinunitive South African novelist receive the Nobel Prize for Literature from the King of Sweden and then lead us all into a waltz in the Golden Ballroom. It was the stuff of fairy tales. Liz Calder". Jacket spine is sunned otherwise Near Fine in a Near Fine d/w.
