Front of 'jacket', crinkling to spine edge, shows wear to edges. Hinge showing between pages 14/15. Most of the black and white plates are delicately coloured in. Original tipped-in colour plates are in very good condition. Typical thick wartime paper is browning. A dramatic stylistic shift from her body of work up until this point, Ouhtwaite's "Bunch of Wild Flowers" follows in the tradition of Margaret Tarrant and Cicely Mary Baker's little books of poetry illustrated with "flower fairies." Small quarto, six tipped colour plates, line drawings; original decorated papered boards; endpapers foxed, head of spine a little browned, a fine copy nonetheless in a rubbed dust-jacket that has sustained some loss of the rear panel.
