About This Item
Centennial Pub Co. Softcover. Very Good. 11x9x0. Fascinating story and collection of photographs taken by pioneer photo journalist and movie maker Harry Hale Buckwalter. He took nearly 2000 glass plate negatives of early Colorado (many now housed at the Colorado Historical Society) and this is a crisp sample of some his best and most interesting work. Subjects include Native Americans, mining and ranching, Teddy Roosevelt's western slope hunting trip, city scenes of Denver, Glenwood Springs, and Colorado Springs, and the first X-rays in the state. The book also covers his involvement with William Selig in the infant movie industry, complete with list of his films.
