About This Item

New York: Doubleday & Company, Inc, 1960. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. First edition first printing, the boards are clean and with sharp corners. The spine is straight with perfect titling, the ends are bumped. The text block edges have light toning. The author book list (after half title) has neat pencil ticks against some of the titles. The pages are crisp and clean, no spots marks or tears. Feels very well bound and lightly read. Very good condition. The jacket has creasing and rubbing to the edges, and a 10mm tear to the foot of front joint. The head of the slightly toned spine is chipped and rubbed, with rubbing to the head of the rear joint. The rear panel is quite bright, with some feint marking and a couple of rubs to the authors photograph. We grade the jacket as very good, and it looks presentable in the fitted archival cover. This book is fitted with a non adhesive archival quality book protector to make a worthy addition to your collection. Note we do not use stock images, the book pictured is the book described. A solid well bound jacketed copy of this the second historical title from deCamp regarding the Colossus of Rhodes, an uncommon title in a jacket.
