Sergei Mikhailovich Eisenstein (1898, Riga — 1948, Moscow) was a Soviet theater and film director, artist, screenwriter, art theorist, and teacher. Author of fundamental works on the theory of cinema. Thanks to the film "Battleship Potemkin", his name became synonymous with Soviet cinema. In 1958, as a result of a survey of film critics from 26 countries at the World Exhibition in Brussels, "Battleship Potemkin" was recognized as "the best film of all time". Rare book printed by Kinopecat in 1926.
