About This Item
Boston: Ginn and Company, 1906. Book. Fine. Hardcover. F. First Edition. Octavo, dark green decorated cloth covered boards with gilt rabbit in black blindstamped "brier-patch" with gilt titles and gilt spine titles. Top edge gilt. Illustrated and decorated in black and white by Charles Copeland. Color fronitspiece of rabbit (a la Beatrix Potter of whom some collectors consider this a knock off). Promotional color reproduction of rabbit frontispiece laid in. Fine. Deep, rich color and brilliant fresh gilt cover decoration. Spine gilt just a bit less bright. Very slight short wrinkle to cloth (binder's flaw) along fore edge of front panel else fine. The interior is really tight, fresh and clean. A beautiful copy..
