He married Emma Jackson on 5 February 1852, in Liverpool, Lancashire, England, United Kingdom. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 5 daughters. He registered for military service in 1857. In 1870, at the age of 37, his occupation is listed as age 37; blacksmith in St. George, Washington, Utah, United States.
