Map frontispiece, showing air corridors over Germany during Berlin blockade. The text is illustrated with contemporary black and white photographs. Brown 1/4 cloth spine and 3/4 tan boards with gilt coloured titles to the spine. Photographic dustwrapper, showing an aircraft flying over the ruins of Berlin, with red and black coloured titles to the front panel and spine. The history of the "The Berlin Blockade" ...." But now the Russians want to drive their wartime colleagues from the former capital and take control of the politically strategic area for themselves.", and how through using aircraft the allies bring supplies to a starving city." – from the front fold over panel blurb. Slight bumping to the corners and shelf wear to the bottom edges of the book. Spine somewhat cocked and there is slight fading to the extreme edges of the spine. Previous owners name on the free front end page. The dustwrapper is rubbed and faded and there is chipping to all four corners. The spine has been sunned causing fading of the writing. Chipping and increasing to the top dustwrapper edges. The dustwrapper is price clipped on the front fold over, lower right-hand corner. This is the first UK edition.
