New York: Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1955. A collection of seven stories. This is a Near Fine copy of the First Edition [stated] - the second state with multiple copyright dates. Light green cloth binding; titling on the spine in gilt within a turquoise label. Clean text; 207 pages. Previous-owner signature on the FFEP, else a Fine copy. The dustjacket is complete, unclipped, but shows some wear. Rubbed at the margins, with chips at the head and foot of the spine; closed tear on the rear panel. In an archival plastic protector.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
Synopsis
Welty tells a tale of a young woman leaving her husband and journeying across the Atlantic Ocean to England, and beyond to Cork.
