The front flyleaf has been removed. The upper corner of the first page (ads for B&S's dog medicine and The Bazaar Kennel Library) has been torn away. Red cloth boards, quite heavily silverfished, soiled in places, gilt titles rubbed on both the front board and on the spine where they are also faded.The book covers Companionable and Field Retrievers; The Labrador, Pointers, Setters and Field Spaniels, Terriers in general, Trick dogs, Trail or drag-hounds, Bloodhounds, Defenders and watch-dogs, Sheep-dogs, stock-tenders, Water-dogs, Vermin-destroyers, Physical training: greyhounds; House and Outdoor manners..
