A very scarce first edition of one of Thomas Dewey's hardboiled crime fiction novels following PI Mac as he is embroiled in another mystery. The very scarce first edition, first printing.In the original unclipped dust wrapper.A hardboiled crime novel in Thomas B. Dewey's 'Mac' series, following the Chicagoan private investigator Mac.In this tale, Mac is embroiled in a convoluted mystery, brought in by five 'brave' and 'bad' girls.Dewey is also known for his crime series featuring Pete Schoefield.Blind stamp of John Pence Junior to the title page. In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart, with some light marks to the front board. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Bookseller's label to the rear paste down. Dust wrapper is edge worn with a chip to the head and tail of the spine, with a couple of tape repairs to the reverse. Tide mark to the reverse of the front wrap, much lighter tide mark to the rear fly leaf. A little rubbing to the front wrap. Minor marks to the rear wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and clean. Blind stamp to the title page. Near Fine
