Penguin Books, 1946. Paperback. Acceptable. 1946. First Penguin Editio. 227 pages. Orange striped paper cover. Pages are fairly bright and clear with light tanning and moderate foxing to free endpapers and text block edges. Pencil inscription to front free endpaper and reverse of cover, with rusted staple binding. Minor dog-eared corners, with a few small nicks along text block edge. Cover has moderate shelf-wear to edges and surfaces, with slight curling to corners. Mild crushing to spine ends, with visible reading creases down spine. Book has a subtle forward lean. Small split to spine end. Lightly tanned and foxed.
