A new edition of Washington Irving's episodic novel formed of a series of character sketches, originally published in 1821 under pseudonym Geoffrey Crayon. This copy was also published under pseudonym. Evolving around the occupants of an English manor inspired by Aston Hall upon a visit from the author. In half calf binding with titles in gilt to morocco spine label. Externally generally smart with minor shelf wear, light rubbing along joints, back strip faded, light scuffing to head of spine rear board. Internally, firmly bound. Light spotting scattered to occasional leaf, pages otherwise generally very clean throughout. Very Good
