About This Item

Boy Scouts Of America, New Brunswick, NJ, 1959; First Edition; Quarto. Full twelve month run of Boys’ Life Magazine for 1959, bound together in BSA publisher’s binding of blue cloth boards with silver titles and bearing the official Boy Scout emblem on the front. All original covers bound in. Includes the February Norman Rockwell cover and August Mickey Mantle. Hundreds of feature and how-to articles of interest to growing boys to aid them in becoming honorable, responsible, mature, self-reliant, and patriotic men, of the kind so threatening to the cynical nihilist crowd of the present day. An added feature of each issue are such serial comic strips as "Pee Wee Harris," "America’s Heritage," "Tracy Twins," "Scouts In Action," etc. Loads of illustrated ads for products and services of interest to boys: Daisy BB guns, Revell and Aurora scale models, Wilson, MacGregor and Spalding sporting equipment, Schwinn bikes, fishing and hunting equipment, etc., plus dozens of color illustrated advertisements for Coke, Pepsi, and Seven Up. All issues Fine, crisp and bright. Binding Very Good, clean, bright, tight, sound, square, cloth rubbed at spine extremities, previous owner name on blank front end paper.
