Payson the pseudonym of John Henry Goldfrap, (1879-1917) was an American journalist and a writer of books for boys. His many books about the Boy Scouts of the Eagle Patrol were most popular in their time. Two 2 1/2" closed tears to bottom edge front panel dj with wrinkles between tears. Pencilled inscription on ffep with two slight dings to top edge rear board and only the faintest edgewear to same with lightly age-tonedtext block edges, else, Pristine with beautiful, extremely bright boards. Clean, tight and strong binding no underlining, highlighting or marginalia. Light brown pictorial cloth wtih red & black backgound and figure of boy scout holding flag on horseback; braced against rock on spine..
