Very scarce salesman's sample book depicting random (albeit titillating) parts of the complete volume including black/white and many colored plates. Calf spine sample adhered to front pastedown; cloth spine printed to rear board.. 10 pages in the back of the book were reserved to be signed by subscribers pledging to buy the book. Colored plate adjacent to page 142 has a repaired tear. Corners worn and contents slightly foxed; otherwise a clean copy.
