The first edition of this biographical work comprised of the writings of Walter Riddell Carre on his memories of the people at the border, collected and compiled after his death. The first edition. In the publisher's original brown cloth. This biographical work was edited by James Tait and comprised of the writings of Walter Riddell Carre after his death. Carre was best known for his lectures and vast knowledge of the Border towns in Scotland and the people who lived there. This work contains the knowledge from these lectures and notes on important people and families from these border towns, such as the Douglas, Scott and Elliot family and their noted decedents such as Sir William Wallace . In the publisher's original cloth. Externally very smart with bumping to the extremities, very small closed tears to the cloth to the tail of the spine, slight marks to the boards and very light rubbing to the joints. Slight cockling to the endpapers. Internally firmly bound with generally bright pages and the odd spot, heavier to the front and rear. Very Good
