First serialized in UNKNOWN WORLDS in 1943, and issued for the first time in hardcover here. 7.5'' x 5''. Original scarlet cloth with gilt-lettered spine. Green decorative endpapers. In original unclipped ($3.00) pictorial dust jacket by A.J. Donnell. Black and white illustrations by Donnell. 227, [1] pages. Minor wear to boards. Moderate scuffing and shallow chipping to jacket at extremities; light foxing to verso.
