London: The Trades Union Congress General Council. 1934 1st edition.. Tall. 11 x 9 ins. Hardback. In green cloth covers with gilt lettering to spine and gilt decoration to front. In very good condition. Spine slightly faded and bumped at ends. Small mark to front board. Handling marks and slight browning to front endpaper. Else a clean and tight copy. 239pp. With colour frontis and b/w photographs and illustrations with several colour plates. Produced to commemorate the arrest and trial of the Tolpuddle Martyrs in 1834. Contributors include; Sidney and Beatrice Webb; Sir Stafford Cripps; Cartoons by Low and Will Dyson.
