About This Item

Oxford: Printed by W. Baxter for J. Parker and C. and J. Rivington, 1825. FINELY BOUND, third edition thus. Quarto (31 x 25cm), pp.[6] lxxii, 966 [2]. In two columns with very extensive footnotes by Rev. Mant. Contemporary panelled and gilt-decorated brown calf, re-backed in the late nineteenth or early twentieth century. Raised bands, gilt titles and decoration to spine; marbled endpapers; all edges gilt. Heavy spotting to endpapers and blanks, otherwise quite crisp and clean internally. Hinges repaired with leather strips. Heavy wear and rubbing to boards. Spine less worn, but joints starting. Very good.
