About This Item
A history and geography of what was for centuries one of Britain's biggest businesses.Opening with a general survey of the trade,it then describes the careers of a number of individual smugglers. The author has taken an exciting subject, and writes with an eye for those details that make history come alive. He lives near the north coast of Cornwall, where the legend of 'Cruel' Copinger led to eight years' research resulting in this book, which is illustrated from old prints and engravings, with sheet ballads of the period. There are also maps to enable the West Country reader to visit any of the numerous places mentioned that are connected with smuggling.
Since April 2013,again in March 2015,and in this year too,the UK Post Office has altered it's Pricing in Proportion template, altering its prices, weight allowances, dimensions and lowered its qualifying compensation rates too! So,please contact rpaxtonden@blueyonder.co.uk ,because of the lighter weight of this item, for correct shipping/P+p quotes - particularly ALL overseas buyers - BEFORE ordering through the order page!
