Includes two introductory essays; one by Arthur Penn, “Private Integrity and Public Violence” and the other by the screenwriters of the film, David Newman and Robert Benton, entitled “Lightning in a Bottle”. The entire screenplay is printed in the book, as well as interviews with Arthur Penn and Warren Beatty, who also produced the film. Additionally, there is a collection of critcal essays by Pauline Kael, Judith Crist, Andrew Sarris, and others. Bonnie and Clyde won two Oscars; one for Best Cinematography for Burnett Guffey, and the other for Best Supporting Actress for Estelle Parsons.
