About This Item
1804 ARTILLERY 1st US ed The Bombardier by Adye America Napoleonic Wars Boston
Ralph Willett Adye was an early 19th-century English artillerist of whom very little is known aside from dying in Gibraltar in 1804. His claim to fame was his artillery manual, 'The Bombardier'. This book proved to be the primary text for artillery gunners and officers during the Napoleonic Wars. This 1804 first American edition was published in Charlestown (i.e., Boston).
