Chicago: Way & Williams, 1897. First Edition. Very Good. Maxfield Parrish. The first book designed by Maxfield Parrish and with decorations by Charles Francis Browne. Bound in original publishers cream cloth over boards and stamped in yellow, black and white for Parrish's illustration; repeated on front and rear. Spine with a yellow stamped label at tope on bottom with balck lines and lettering. Corners gently bumped, bumps to head and tail of spine, some minor smudges. Top edge gilded (one small dent in gilding), long and lower edges rough cut. Private libarary stamp on front pastedown, ffep neatly removed. The interior is clean and clear.
