About This Item

Culver City: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, 1925. Two original working scripts for the early silent film directed by King Vidor and starring Lillian Gish and John Gilbert. The first script dated is a 93 page carbon typescript. The second 108 page script is dated July 23, 1925 is an original ribbon typescript. Both scripts are the studio’s own file copies, each triply stamped VAULT COPY on the front covers. Bradbound in original studio wrappers which has some chipping and the covers are backed with rice paper by an expert paper conservationist. The film which survives stars Lillian Gish, John Gilbert, Renée Adorée, George Hassell, Roy D'Arcy, Edward Everett Horton Karl Dane, Mathilde Comont, Gino Corrado, Eugene Pouyet, Frank Currier, David Mir, Catherine Vidor, Valentina Zimina, Harry Crocker, Blanche Payson. The resulting film is a well known silent film classic and silent film scripts are rare.
