Compendium of English & American poetry from the Middle Ages through late 1800s, in 348 pages, with lovely engravings by H. J. Ford & Lancelot Speed throughout, including Frontispiece (with tissue overlay intact). First published in 1891, this is the Sixth Impression from 1914. Hardcover octavo with deep blue cloth over boards, embossed on front cover with illustration of Pan & his lyre singing to lions. Gilt lettering to spine is clean & bright. Overall condition is Near Fine: exceptionally clean, binding straight & secure, pages creamy white with a shadow of tanning around edges; NO foxing. Former owner's name & date in neat pen on verso of ffep facing half title page; NO other writing/underlining/highlighting; NOT ex-lib or BCE. Only real flaws are bumped bottom corners (nearly down to boards) & rubbing to extremities. Otherwise, a clean & bright little copy & nice complement to Lang's Fairy Books of this same era.Photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have on hand.
