Former WWI pilot, an American who flew for the French and was shot down in 1918, is banished to Morocco after trying to desert. Come 1926, he learns of a prize offered to the first man to fly between Paris and New York and begins to plan his escape from Africa and attempt to win the prize. Fine in fine dust jacket.
